Privacy

The short version: this site collects as little as possible. No cross-site trackers, no advertising cookies, no selling of data. Where third-party media is embedded (Vimeo, YouTube), those services apply their own rules — we say so plainly and link out.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany) automatically records access data necessary to deliver the website: IP address, date and time of request, referrer, browser type, and operating system. These logs are stored for up to 14 days and are used solely for security, error diagnosis, and abuse prevention. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

Cookies

The public pages of this site set no tracking cookies. A functional session cookie is set only when you log in to the Members area, and only to keep you signed in during that visit. It is deleted when you sign out or close your browser.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted instance of Umami — a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not follow visitors across sites. Data is anonymised at collection and stored on EU servers. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. You can read more about Umami at umami.is.

Embedded media (Vimeo, YouTube)

Video previews on this site are loaded only when you click play. Until then, no connection is made to the video provider. Once you start a video, Vimeo (Vimeo, Inc., USA) or YouTube (Google LLC, USA) may set cookies and collect data according to their own privacy policies. We have no influence on that processing.

Fonts

Web fonts (Cormorant Garamond, Inter) are served from our own domain via Next.js font optimisation. No font request leaves to Google or any third party.

Contact & enquiries

If you write to us by email or submit an enquiry form, we use the data you provide solely to answer your message. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). We keep correspondence as long as needed to handle the conversation; commercial correspondence is retained for the statutory period.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port the data we hold about you, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email allen@allenpittman.com.
